What They Say
Distol finally comletes his end of the deal and now he can save Princess Qoona...or so he thought. The treasure he has taken from Bastarauge was to break the seal that Princess Elena carries inside her body, and now that the seal is broken, the great Demon King has awakened! The witch, Eleanor, used Distol to awaken her true master. Realizing what he has done, Distol, now vows to fight for the side of good, and destroy the Demon King. What fate awaits the world? Is it a new dark-age, or will the side of good bring peace to the world? Only God may know the answer to that question.

The Review!
Distol reaches his goal at long last but has buyer's remorse as he learns what the deal was really all about.

Audio:
For our primary viewing session, we listened to this show in its original language of Japanese. It's the only language track included here as once again there's no dub for a new adult release. The track is a fairly standard stereo mix with a bit of directionality across the two channels that sounds decent if not terribly immersive. Dialogue is mostly center channel based but it comes across clean and clear and we had no problems with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.

Video:
Originally released in 2004, the transfer for this OVA series is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. While not as high quality as some of the other recent shows we've seen, the animation here is good and the transfer captures its qualities well. The source material has lots of bright vivid colors and some decent animation that doesn't show too many shortcuts. The colors generally look good and solid though there are some areas where you can see some interlacing going on but it is a fairly small issue all told and most likely not noticeable on most setups. This is essentially a problem free transfer for the most part with very good looking animation.

Packaging:
Shifting style once again, this cover provides a look at the main trio of women that Distol has dealt with outside of the witch as they're essentially hanging in the balance in various types of clothing while showing off their goods in different ways. The character designs for the show aren't the best to begin with and it's reflected here. The back cover has a has a set of pictures from the show that lets you see exactly what the animation style is like, nudity and all, and goes on to a very lengthy series summary over two detailed paragraphs. The production and technical information round out the bottom of the cover and is pretty straightforward other than not listing any of the languages here beyond the subtitles.

Menu:
Continuing to build upon the changes in the menu layout and design from the first volume and the second volume, the main layout here uses the artwork of the queen and Elena from the front cover but with their clothes either removed or torn away from them while having an animated background that's like stardust exploding as music plays along. The layout is decent overall and the animation about what you can expect from the show but the shift from the static to this is nice but still has that feel of a kid with a new toy as menus bounce in and out or twirl about. The previously combined extras/setup menu is gone and each has their own section now which is welcome. Access times are nice and fast and with no English language dub on here the player presets are somewhat moot.

Extras:
The only included extra here is an image gallery done in slideshow format.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With the third episode of Slutty Princess Diaries, Distol makes some serious progress in his goal to free Qoona and be happy once and for all. With all that he's gone through and the kinds of things he's done since turning to Eleanor and using the power she's given him, it's not surprising that he at long last finds some amount of happiness but that it's short lived.

Distol's efforts to corrupt Elena finally come to a head when he returns to where she's being held and he's brought her a present in the form of a cute little animal. Every show needs a mascot character like this and this one goes back a long ways as it looks like the cute little critter from the Nausicaa movie. Since the creature is in a small cage, not unlike the cage that Elena is in, she's not eager to accept the animal nor Distol's intentions but it turns out that the cage isn't locked and the little critter really wants to get to know Elena. The little beastie's actually rather frisky and it ends up attacking her by sprouting tentacles out of its back and its rear. That's right, the little animal knows how to please a woman!

While Elena goes down for the bad stuff here and reaches her final level of corruption, Distol checks in on the Queen and her guards at the prison cell. He gets them put them through their final paces. The two guards do their best to save their Queen and offer themselves up but Distol gets to have the fun of saying that the two of them certainly don't equal her. His plans for finalizing their own corruption is well done as he hauls them out in front of a group of men who are thirsting for blood of the enemy and before they know it they're being accosted by all of them. With the final seal now his, Distol's ready to break it and set Qoona free, but not before getting a little loving from her as well.

Things go in Distol's favor for a bit with Qoona now back in his grasp and out of the tower but freeing her ends up with dire consequences he didn't really think about. Strangely enough he ends up with a change of heart about how he feels about humanity now after treating everyone he comes across as lower than scum. Even more amusing, Elena goes through a case of falling in love with her tormenter so while the world around them falls into ruins, she ably runs the kingdom for him as he seeks out the way to stop the madness. Distol goes from hero to villain and back to hero again but keeps his slutty ways about him this time.

In Summary:
Slutty Princess Diaries continues to be the weakest of the series that JapanAnime has brought out so far both in terms of animation and sex. The story is there though it's weak itself but it's at least trying to have some sort of meat to it. The show has been a hard sell from the start as it focused more on the plot than the sex and then proceeded to do some very weak sex scenes that weren't helped by flat and somewhat lifeless character designs. This episode brings things to a climax but only really in the story as the sex is entirely forgettable. At this point the show is basically for hardcore fans of fantasy shows that have a bit of sex in them.
