Ahhh, the Smallville forum is alive and well.... good to be back.

OK, DuckBeaver kind of hinted at this (and maybe xpal, too) but that shot of Super-Kal on the roof with the red leather jacket... that SERIOUSLY, red leather jacket... nobody is going to make fun of that????  Really?  I know they were trying to present an image of Superman there, but all I could see was Ben Afflek in his Daredevil outfit from the movie poster of that disappointing flick.

Joe, when are you going to learn that you should never argue with Kara?  Definitely would have to build up that tolerance each lifetime -- and between binges, as redhairs was so keen to point out.  (Oh, and this just in, BenLinus is still evil.)  :)

As far as the bullet, I thought "ARNT" stood for neither cAt gRaNT nor clARk keNT.  Rather, I thought it meant "ARNT you tired of us stupid Smallville writers?".  Or was that just me?

Parting thought on reviewers in general.  You don't necessarily have to agree with (or even like) a specific reviewer for it to be effective, provided you know that reviewer well enough.  I have a friend that has different tastes in movies, and whenver I hear his opinion, I know how to translate it and form an opinion on it from their comments.  I don't always agree with Joe (sorry man) but I enjoy his takes in the reviews he writes.  (And the devilish side of me chuckles at some of the trivial things that gets him all worked up.)

Oh yeah, and steakguy, EnderWiggin and the like... Whenever you write a comment to complain about Joe, that is probably exactly what they want.  It's like Colin Cowherd says about his ESPN radio show: he doesn't care if you hate him, he just wants an emotional response.  I am fully convinced that Mania (jury is still out on Joe) that all they want are comments, and they don't care if they are positive of negative.  That is this guy's opinion anyway.

millean, LOL, literaly.  I did laugh out loud at your comment.  Maybe Ben Linus did change himself and do good things with the rest of his life.  But I still wouldn't trust that guy as far as I could throw him.  The urge to stab people in the back might be just too strong for him to resist.

And is there something we can do about these spammers?  This is a discussion board, not a flea market.  If I want shoes or handbags or DVDs I'll go out and buy them.  I don't need them advertised here.

I love that they're pushing out all of DC's supervillans in this last season. Deadshot is such a rarity and I loved how they treated him. I wished they had used "The Good, Bad, and the Ugly" theme when there was the final showdown, cliche' but c'mon it would've been great. I can't believe how geeked out I got towards the with Clark in a better variation of his Season 8 interpretation of being the Red Blue Blur.  I was disturbed that Cat Grant was the girl who was getting off by riding a horse in Cruel Intentions 2. And I didn't like the fluffy personality, those people really annoy the crap out of me.  I did get worried when they showed the Suicide's Squad logo in Clark and turned blue.  Anyone else thought it was Blue Kryptonite? Until everyone else was marked I thought he was in trouble.  Did anyone else feel Cat might've known who Clark really was? There was a tone in her voice and how she blantly dropped the color schemes of the red and blue, makes me think she's smarter than she looks.  Who knows? But next week DARKSEID!! Or some variation of him

Joe, how many episodes have you seen?  Your comments regarding Lois Lane drinking and Erica Durance's acting abilities:  FYI - LL drinking has been in many episodes, she's been able to keep up with (or surpass) the boys and ED has been shown (or heard) being drunk a few times and she's done a great job.  As a matter of fact, Clark Kent has made references to her drinking issue in more than one episode.  There are things that Smallville can be criticized for - you picked the wrong one and in doing so, let everyone know that the basis for some of your criticism is ignorance.  Erica Durance's LL is one of the highlights of the show.

@redhairs, I have no problem with Carter not being drunk - that's my whole lifetimes of tolerance argument.

As for Carter's death, that is his fate. He will undoubtedly sacrifice himself to save the lives of the citizens of Metropolis. All 37 of them.

@millean, I understand my odds in a battle with Kara, and yet I still go there. One day I'll learn. There is no mandate from Mania for me to piss off the blindly loyal Smallville fans who refuse to see the flaws. I'm happy to do that all on my own.  ;)

@kara, yes, your disappointment in the Star Trek movie is well documented all over  the pages of Mania. My guess is if you Google "Star Trek movie" there's more Kara links than Chris Pine links.

@thefakejared, I also jumped to Blue K. Didn't catch that Cat may have known him, and have no desire to go back and rewatch.  ;)

@Pappy, I've watched all of last season, and a few eps of the previous shows. I understand Lois is supposed to be a drinker, but my point was I've hung out with hard drinkers, and after a half bottle, they become different. Again, Marion in Indiana Jones is exactly where my mind went (mostly because they set the background that way, and also because Lois mentioned it) I would have preferred Lois to act a little drunk... it's what happens when a grizzled veteran slams em back, I'll assume a 110 pound 22 year old would get slightly twisted (and I realize they have portrayed Lois as a girl who can handle her booze, but let's root these scenes in reality.)

@JoeArtistWriter, if all you watched was all of last season and a few previous eps, you missed scenes where Lois did drink too much (the volume of alcohol she consumed is unknown) and she does ACT very different.  Check out season 8, episode 5, "Committed" (I think this was the episode), we get to see Lois slightly drunk and make an @$$ of herself at Chloe and Jimmy's engagement party, see her wake up at the farm not remembering too much, and hear a message she left for Chloe on Chloe's answering machine while she was drunk. 

Like I said, there are holes in quite a few episodes (ok, almost ALL episodes) that are the result of sloppy and/or lazy writing.  ED is one of the better actors on the show and her take (and the writers' take) on LL is very refreshing.  To quote Margot Kidder:  she [Erica Durance] knocked it out of the ballpark with her portrayal of LL.

@Pappy, no doubt Erica Durance is smoking hot, and she can be entertaining to watch, but call me old school, I still prefer Noel Neill. I never really cared much for Kidder's Lane. She looked a little haggard for Lois.
