OK, so now I'm worried if I made Kara mad since she hasn't posted in a bit...  Hope not, I got nothin' but love for ya!  (Maybe she's out enjoying the holiday... yeah, that's it).  :)

Dude!  Now you've done it!  All those months of me making inappropriate comments to her, and now, one crack from you and she's gone!  Nice job. L0s3r!

Now what the frak amd I gonna do?'re wearing right now?

LOL, I'm still here guys.  I'm not offended.  I'd offer you a feel but it might be a little difficult over the internet.  Just close your eyes and use your imagination.

I've never watched The Office so I don't know what jokes they use.  I don't like sitcoms as a general rule (though I LOVE The Big Bang Theory).  I saw half an episode ot The Ofice once and thought it was completely unfunny.  Not to my sense of humor at all.

No, the only thing that offends me is that Mania isn't reviewing Supernatural any more.  And the SG:U review is late, wonder if they've cut that one as well.  I'd be steamed!

Kara,  The Office is running out of steam. It used to be side-splittingly funny.

If you are unaware, The Office currently running on NBC is a US version of the Ricky Gervaise show of the same name which ran on the BBC.   It showed life in a typical British office, and though Gervaise's character was bumbling (though not as much as Carrel's) he was also very self-serving.  The show is brilliant, but a lot of the humour is of the uncomfortable variety.

The first few episodes of the US version are pretty close to the UK version, but then it sort of veers left and becomes much more its own show and offers more of what life is like in an American office.  Again, really funny stuff.  I suspect that if you've not really spent much time working in an office, some of it will be lost on you, but give the first season a shot.

Big Bang, by the way, continues to be awesome.

Yeah, "That's what she said" may or may not have originated with The Office.  I thought everyone would have known at least that bit, but I guess that's what I get for assuming.  :)  I quit watching The Office a couple of years ago.  It was OK, but I don't love it like a lot of my friends do.

And Jakester... if you want to know what Joe is wearing... why don't you just ask your mom?  (My new goal is to insult everyone on these boards!)

I accidentally stumbled on a way to make my posts show up in blue the other day, what do you think?  It is kind of hard to do, but still fun, nonetheless!  :)

That is a noble goal, Millean.  I'm glad your goal isn't to be wittier than everyone because I'd hate to see your dreams crushed.

Look like I'll have to condense my disappointment in all things Smallville to 150 words nowadays. Seems like I should get a raise in pay to figure out how to edit down all that biting criticism into such a small package.

(and on the cue of "small package" I leave Jakester with a truck-sized opening for his Michael Scott rejoinder.)

Actually, I spent the last 9 1/2 years working in an office.  I just don't find Carrell's character funny.  He's an a$$ hole.  I don't think a$$ holes are funny.

Jakester 11/12/2010 5:15:34 PM

Joe, that's such a softball.  I'm totally above that sort of thing.

No I'm not.  "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!"  I feel better now.

Kara, Gervaise's character was an asshole.  Michael Scott (the US boss) is sometimes a jerk, but he's more bumbling and well-meaning, honestly.  As I said, it took a while for the show to find its own footing, but when it did, it got really funny.  But no big.  It's not like it's required geek viewing or anything.

Joe, here is the standard review you should use (no need to credit me):

Smallville Season way too many, episode oh-god-is-this-crap-still-on

Recap:  Clark has angst over not being the hero he was meant to be.  Lois wears a sexy outfit. Stupid stuff happens that makes no sense whatsoever, but had to happen to move the plot along.  Stupid comic relief is stupid.  Tess works on redeeming herself (until she doesn't). End credits.  I put a bullet in my brain.

First of all I really have enjoyed this show for quite a long time;however the past two years have been dismal as far as scripts are concerened. What in God's name happened? Don't the producers give a damn anymore? And don't the Actor's have any input about the goofy scripts. It is so sad to see A great series go down in such disgrace. Maybe Allision Mack finally said "Enough is Enough"
