Smallville And Supernatural Finales Set

Two hour blocks for both shows to close out the year

By Chris Beveridge     February 07, 2011

The word is out from the folks at the CW about what to expect for two of its shows this season with their ending episodes. For Smallville fans, the tenth and final season will draw to a close on May 13th where it will get a two hour finale in order to pull it all together. That night there won't be any Supernatural obviously, so it's getting its finale the next week for the season with a two-hour closer as well.

With Smallville, what's your best memory of the series so far going into the final stretch? And for Supernatural fans, what's tickled your fancy this season that's kept the magic alive? And are you up for a season seven?

I think I'm gonna actually miss Smallville.  Would be nice if maybe in a year or two they can create a new series based on Superman and friends with a similar or slightly darker tone than Smallville, but nothing like the Lois and Clark tv series.

Yeah Im gonna miss Smallville, even though this season..did not deliver much.Smallvilles always been there, gonna be weird when it goes away. As for supernatural..

I dont know. If season 7 doesnt start off with a bang,I just dont know. I was REALLY looking forward to season 6.. but it was a let down . only thing that kept me going is the thing about Sams soul, Spoiler alert for those who havent seen it yet.Im glad Sams back, and latest episode was good.BUT I wanted to see some dragons!! or like some fire breath

Smallville lost it's way (I miss Lost).  Early seasons were the best with it's stories.

Smallville has always been fun to watch.  A totally different take on Superman.  And for people like me who get sick of the same old superhero stories over and over again, a welcome change.  I will miss it.

And Dazzler, I miss Lost, too.  Sometimes painfully so.

I hope the WB picks up SGU now that Smallville is ending, this show is showing promise in its second season, i love those three shows. Smallville, Supernatural and SGU. i really hope i dont end up with just the one.

Sorry to see Smallville go , but its time ,  I still hoping the rest of this season will improve cause it started out horrible, otherwise yeah im game for 7 if it is well written .

I like Smallville and Ill miss it... but Im glad its ending. It was a nice new take on the Superman mythos, but i feel it ran its course. The old radio show did its own take and from it we got a flying Superman and kryptonite, Smallville now leaves its mark in the comics with Chloe Sullivan appearing soon. I think thats pretty cool.

Last I heard Michael Rossenbaum will not be returning. Which is too bad and a poor career choice. Its a great way to please the fans as well as get people mentioning his name again.  If he closes the series with the definitive Lex Luthor, the promotion and word of mouth for the finale could prove to boost his career far beyond Smallville.

I just hope the finale is amazing so it goes out on a high note.

I LOVE Supernatural but unless they create a grander arc, as powerful as the first 5 years, then its pointless and detracts from Kripkes overall saga. As much as i dont want it to end, end it, but structure it to make it end how Kripke envisioned it to end. Sam is supposed to be in hell at the end.

I have enjoyed Smallville, even more so now that the writers are tying it the DCU and adding more hero's the Smallville roster. Yes, thare has been some sloppy writing and missed opportunities for better episode, but it is what it is. I will miss it and can't wait to see the 2 hour finale!

Supernatural is aa awesome series. The writing is spot on, the characters are enjoyable, and it has a perfect blend of horror, drama, and comic relief.  What's interesting and amazing is that each seasons is a chapter in an over-reaching story arc,and to my recolection there has only been one other series written with the same concept and that is Babylon 5. I hope that Kripke and the writers have enough respect for Supernatural to bring the story to it's ultimate conclusion soon and give the character's the farewell-happy ending they deserve.

Supernatural was (and still is for the time being) a great show. Its going to be hard to find something to take its place in the DVR.

As for Smallville, I am not going to lie and say the last few seasons have not been...disappointing. I was really hopeing for more from a show that had such great potential. As much as a lot of us complain I am sure we enjoyed more of it then not. I really hope CW ends on a high note and delivers something great with the finale.

Been a HUGE Smallville fan since the very beginning, but I'm happy this is the last season. The last couple of seasons haven't been that great, IMO. Regardless, it will always be one of my favorite shows & I'm grateful that I stuck with it. I'm anxious to hear what Tom Welling & Justin Hartley plan on doing once the show ends. I'll keep my fingers crossed & hope that they do a Green Arrow spin-off! :-)

Supernatural is an AWESOME show! I may be one of the very few that is grateful that Supernatural didn't end last season. It was a great SEASON finale, but defenitely NOT good enough for a series finale. I'm torn ... I love the show & don't want it to end, but I'm also hoping they don't drag the series out for another 2-3 seasons. I want this show to end on a high note & not bore me like the last couple of seasons of Smallville did. Hopefully they'll wrap it up soon & stick to what Kripke originally had planned for the finale.
