The opening song to a James Bond movie is a staple just like the gun, the car, and the babes. The new song, by Adele, for Skyfall has been posted to YouTube for fans to listen to. The sad part is, it is only the song with the words posted over a colorful background. Where’s the video? Where is the opening montage? Anything would have been better than this, especially since today is Global James Bond Day.
Hate this song. Boring, repetitive rhyming for the first 90 seconds followed by a horrid chorus. The echo from the backup vocals gets annoying after the first time they join in.
This just doesn't compre to Chris Cornell's "You know my name", Sheryl Crowe's "Tomorrow Never Dies" or Jack White and Alicia Eye's "Another Way to Die".
Trying too hard to keep a certain "Bond" sound which really doesn't play to Adell's talents. I've been disappointed in most of the more recent Bond songs. Let the musicians do something a little different. Paul Macartney still remains a personal fave. Every Craig film has had talented musicians with forgettable songs.
You should check out the rejected James Bond theme songs on Youtube. If anything, listen to Johnny Cash's Thunderball. Entertaining, but it was more appropriate for a cowboy movie.
This is the worst of Craig's movies songs. Casino Royale might have been one of the best songs ever. Def in the top 3. She is a wonderful singer and this doesn't show off her skill nor does this song get me excited, that said it might really fit with the theme, I'll wait till I see the opening of the movie first before I really judge the song.
This song is freaking awesome and fits right into the oeuvre of Bond songs especially the classy Bond songs of the 60s and 70s. I remember when Casino Royale came out, everyone hated that song and complained about Cornell performing the song. Now everyone loves it? One of the best Bond songs ever was Sheryl Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies. A very underrated song from one of the most underrated Bond flicks. I am totally digging this track and am now royally pumped for this film. This is coming from a man who probably has more Bond knowledge in his pinky than most people in the world. I have done extensive research on these films and watched every movie multiple times and examined them frame for frame. I have read every piece of literature on Ian Fleming as well as Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman who was a lunatic. I'm even writing a script about the lives of Broccoli and Saltzman. Mike10 seems to be the only one who understands this track appropriately in sumise of it sounding like a Shirley Bassey track. It does sound like a song she would have sung. The worst Craig song is Another Way to Die. Only the 2nd time I found myself fast-forwarding through a Bond opening ( as I did with Madonna's dreadful "Die Another Day" song).
Is anyone else crazy enough to watch the first 22 films in a row without sleeping like I recently did with my best friend who is also a Bond fanatic? The people who make the energy drink MONSTER must have saw their sales fly through the roof for those 58 hours straight hours me and my friend were awake.
She sounds alot like Shirley Bassey. Looking forward to this movie, Daniel Craig is a wild man.
