He was "Darth Maul" in Episode 1:TPM. He was "Toad" in X-Men. He will soon be Danny Rand/Iron Fist in the upcoming Iron Fist movie. Now, Ray Park has been cast as Snake Eyes in the upcoming adaptation of G.I JOE, reports Slashfilm. Park has joined Sienna Miller as the first two casting confirmations for the live-action film, based on the Hasbro toys, comics and 80's television series. Miller was cast earlier in the month as the raven haired Baroness. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) and Hasbro's Brian Goldner will be producing the flick for Paramount. Production is set to begin in mid-February 2008.

G.I JOE will hit theaters August 7, 2009.

Hell yeah, He's got the moves. He seems a little short , but they can fix that with movie magic or something (dig a hole for the others to stand in)

Yes, yes, yes, Hollywood finally got it right. He is perfect, he does not have to talk and he has the title to pull the silent master off!!!

PRECISELY the guy I wanted to play Snake Eyes!!! I'm not so arrogant to wonder if Stephen Sommers read these message boards and took my idea, but I am thrilled.

Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper, er I mean Snake Eyes. Well he has the moves yes, but I'm not thrilled about it, though to me this casting is the least important considering you don't see his face and he doesn't talk. Hell Snake Eyes could almost be CG and it wouldn't matter. I'm not serious about that.

almostunbiased said it right. This isn't a big deal. You never see the guy's face, he doesn't talk so what's the big deal. With wire work and special effects anyone can be made to look like an expert martial artist.

I might have said he's too short for the role also if I wasn't always getting on people for worrying about little things like height and always pointing out that Hugh Jackman is 6'2 and played a character who (in comics) is supposed to be 5'3. I try not to be a hypocrite. At least Snake Eyes doesn't generally speak. I think Ray Park as an actor (as with MANY kung fu guys) is horrible. Although, if I WERE hung up about his height, I would say they should have cast him as Stormshadow instead.

Nah, Stormshadow has to be totally Japanese. I like Ray Park but his style may not be so good for the role. Ninjustu should be the Dominant Style for the Role of these two Characters. Park is more about Wushu and Chinese martials Arts and it will definitely show on screen. I know that Snake Eyes is a Master of many different Arts but he was trained mainly in Ninjustu.

It won't show up on the screen to me. I couldn't tell Nijitsu, from Wushu. Not to be a dumbass, but for some people some forms of martial arts are hard to tell apart. However I agree Snake eyes should use Ninjitsu, SOOOO Park will probably be studying up on it. I think he'll have enough respect for the art to portray it correctly, AND he's probably glad to have a job again, so He'll want't to do it right.
On another note, I can't see Scarlet hooking up with Ray Park.

Huh...may just be the animating of the cartoon, but I always got the idea that Stormshadow was also white. I'm not sure it was the animating though, because his actual first name was Thomas. Doesn't sound very Japanese to me. I could be wrong. I'll have to Wikipedia it.

Okay, just looked it up...I bow to your superior knowledge, jedi4sshield...the character is Japanese. What happened with the animation? There was never any doubt in my mind that Quick Kick was oriental. Oh well, with that in mind, I'd say get Jason Scott Lee to play Stormshadow since Jet Li may be out of this movie's league.

gauleyboy420 • Dec 05, 2007, 05:55pm •
He's Japanese. Contrary to poular belief (especially the skewed beliefs of this site) Japanese people are not yellow.
No it's true, In fact they are the same pigmentation as many caucasians.
sorry if I offended anyone, I'm in a bad mood.
p.s.
Quick Kick was NEVER "oriental" Rugs are oriental food is oriental. Quick Kick would have been, like storm Shadow. ASIAN
