Ooh, Calibur, good call!  I like it.  Good memory, Sonyman. I was thinking the same thing (about Malkovich being offered GG in the 1st movie). I like Malkovich, I just don't know if I see him as The Vulture.  In fact, I don't know if I see The Vulture as the villain at all.  I could definitely see The Lizard.  And I think that whole Vultress thing is disinformation.  Totally weird.

Oh, and I'm also tired of the non-Batman 3 news.  Can we agree to a boycott until something official comes out?  I'm more tired of this than I ever was of Megan Fox, and somehow a boycott of her was organized.

I always felt if they were the Vulture route and would do the youth story arc (where Vulture grows young again) that Tom Hardy from 'Star Trek: Nemesis' would be a great young Vulture...  Otherwise, I think Malkovich is a perfect choice for the older version.  He has more of a villainous nature than Kingsley.

I still don't know why the studio is so gunshy on Lizard, though.  If they're afraid he'll scare the kids then go back to his roots and make him the intelligent Lizard instead of the Calypso rage driven Lizard from McFarlane's less than spectacular 'Torment' story arc.  If Sony is so scared of him then they should quit with the rumors of Carnage.  That's one rogue who should stay in the comics!

And hopefully Black Cat will start out to be a burglar and then team up with Spidey at the end to fight the main villain.  I thought that worked well with Harry Osborn/Green Goblin doing it in 3 as he had saved Spidey on several comic book occasions.  Do the same with Felicia!

I love the lizard, but think about it, Raimi sort of painted himself into a corner with Osborn and Doc Oc both being scientists that he was close to that became menaces, a foil to Peter becoming a public "menace due to science as well. Its sort of a plot point done over and over. It sucks because Lizard is terribly interesting, but I bet Raimi is seeing the problem the same way, and opting for a different background this time for a villian. That is why the Kraven thing would be better. Have a flashback of Doc Conners and Peter being close, and cut to the current where Lizard is already a menace that Kraven is after. That is the only way I can see it working, so Lizard isn't so much of a focus.

Here's my take on the Spider- Man 4 movie.  THE MOVE IS 90% CGI ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yes, Malkovich would be a GREAT Vulture do to his acting and presence.  But not haveing the Lizard because it doesn't fit?  Again...the movie is 90% CGI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Venom and Sandman were ALL CGI.  Who cares if you have the Lizard in there.  Stroryline wise, it makes sense that Vulture and Lizard would be in it.  Black Cat is also a great villain.  But you have to insinuate that there was a piece of the VENOM symbiote that Doc Connors had.  Applying to the comic...THAT IS CARNAGE!!!!!  Are you not going to have Carnage in one of the upcoming movies because he "DOESN'T FIT?"  I'm bad mouthing Spider-Man.  I have always loved the comic and the movies are well done (Thanks to Raimi).  But Hollywood's reasons for things NEVER HAVE and NEVER WILL make sense.

JUST CAST BRUCE CAMPBELL AS MYSTERIO ALREADY For christs sake Raimi wouldn't be where he is without EVIL DEAD and Evil Dead would never be half the movie it is without BRUCE "Hail to the King" CAMPBELL!  Raimi owes Campbell more than those tidbits he's been tossing under the table.

I don't know where this "he doesn't fit" thing you guys are saying is coming from, the article just says the studio didn't want a monster and wants a villain with a more human face, probably to justify the fact they are paying somebody millions to be the villain of a movie so they want to show his face.

They did it with Spider Man taking off his mask, Dafoe would take off the Goblin helmet and even when they had Venom, the symbiote pulled back to show Topher Grace's face.

Although if they are keeping Dylan as Doc Connors then they are doing that guy a favor by keeping him in Lizard form.  Zing!

These odd decisions they're making for Spider-Man 4 are disappointing to say the least. If we saw Venom, then I'm in agreement that we can see Lizard. In fact, Lizard would be a nice spectacular change of pace. Furthermore, Ben Kingsley was rumored to be in the running for the Vulture. What happened? Kingsley looks the part! It would be pretty cool to see Kingsley make a nice little comeback for himself. I like Malkovich, but the dude dropped out from playing Green Goblin (Before Dafoe took the role) and I can't see him playing a super-villain anymore. I'm not even going to touch this ridiculous "Vulturess" idea. It's very disappointing. It's hard to have confidence in Sam Raimi if these things are true. It seems almost out of desperation. What a let-down.
