Steven Spielberg and Paramount Pictures have brought back director Stephen Sommers to helm the remake of WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE. Spielberg will produce. Sommers will write and direct the film.

Sommers had been set once before to direct the film but moved on to direct A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM for 20th Century Fox. But ultimately he left that project due to "creative differences."

Sommers will now work on a rewrite of the script and hopes to have a draft done by sometime in near the beginning of the second quarter of next year.

Sommers, McGee and Roth, the shithead trifecta of directors. You fuckass guys suck, get a new career please and stop giving us the shit that you do. I have had more fun watching dogs crap at the park than any of your fucking movies.

Hey I liked the black and white part of Van Helsing and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

Van Helsing had some good moments, so I'm going to be optimistic about this one! Sommers is pretty good at delivering the big, event popcorn movie. I love the original version of this movie and can envision the amazing special effects that Sommers will bring to a new version.

Hmm! I'm not too sure about where Paramount is going with this remake run. They seem to be running through the George Pal and 'Palesque style' movies. Perhaps we will see a Tom Thumb remake, although a decent Time Machine remake would be good.

Oh good! We haven't seen a nice destroy-the-world picture in YEARS! Jeez.

Van Helsing sucked.
A vampire hunter with that kind of aim?
I nearly walked out of the movie.
It hurt my eyes. It really did.
The only remotely nice thing about the film was my drooling over Kate Beckingsdale (though I liked her better in Underworld... which I felt was a so-so film).

On topic, however, I was a little intrigued by the original film of "When Worlds Collide" and had a good laugh at the matte painting at the end.

heh... that matte painting was great wasn't it?
