Soylent Shivering Isles

Welcome to another Countdown, where just like in Rand McNally hamburgers eat people. Putting soylent servings aside though this week took last week’s game fest and turned the cannibalism down to six. I say cannibalism since there were a few publishers that released several games in that short time period, which could end up cannibalizing their own game sales. This of course happened to the Beyond Good & Evil title, when it was released at the same time as Prince of Persia. Just think that title could have graced so many more homes. Anyways lets get on with the games.
Made Man (PS2) - In this budget title, prepare to become part of the Mafia and work your way up from the bottom of the barrel. How you plan to move up is all up to you... But chances are you will need to get your hands dirty.
Medal of Honor Vanguard (PS2 - Wii) - If you enjoyed the previous Medal of Honor videogames, I am confident that you will also enjoy this one. I am glad to see that it came out on the Wii just so that I can compare it with the other FPS like Red Steel and Far Cry. Here is hoping they hit one out of the park.
Disney's Meet the Robinsons (PS2 - Xbox 360 - PC - Wii - DS) - Do you like playing licence games based off of movies? I actually tried the game out at E3 during a tour through the Buena Vista Games section, and the game was not bad... but not great either. Hopefully some changes have been made since then.
Red Star (PS2) - Set around three key main characters, The Red Star tells the tale of an alternate Russia, the URRS, where massive technology and futuristic weapons are wielded by its army, The Red Fleet. Here we have an interesting sounding game so I applaud their efforts. Between swords, sickles, guns, and possibly hammers, you should be able to kick some major butt.
Virtua Tennis 3 (PSP) - Obviously here you have the sports game in a portable fashion.
Rayman Raving Rabbids (Xbox 360) - Finally the Raving Rabbids party adventure is available on the Xbox 360. If you have not played it on the other systems yet... Why not play now?
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (PC) - March 2047, A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War and long-awaited return of the most groundbreaking Real-time Strategy franchise of all time. If I cannot have another Starcraft this will have to do for now. Of course if you are not a fan of Supreme Commander you may just be a fan of C&C instead.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Shivering Isles (PC) - Obviously if you have been enjoying Elder Scrolls IV on the Xbox 360 or the PC you will want to get this expansion. The game should also soon be a download on the Xbox 360 quite soon, so cross your fingers. The PS3 market will also need to wait a bit longer before they taste the greatness of the game, but even longer if you are in Europe. Since the latest Elder Scrolls incarnation has been such a beautiful game, I will decree that the expansion is the Game of the Week.
POGO Island (DS) - Hone your skills at five classic POGO games, including Poppit, Word Whomp, Squelchies, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, and Phlinx, but then set off on an island adventure to reunite with your POGO friends. The game features wireless single-card play so it may be a good party game. This also may be the best way to play POGO games since it hopefully does not install any questionable programs on your DS.
Honeycomb Beat (DS) - Do you like music? How about puzzles? This game mixes both of those genres to introduce an addictive puzzle that involves clicking on honeycomb tiles to match their colour on the field. It does sound a bit like Hexic though, which is a good and a bad thing.
Konami Classics: Arcade Hits (DS) - Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits includes more than a dozen arcade games from Konami, including Contra, Time Pilot, Gradius, Roc 'N Rope, Rush'n Attack, Track and Field, and Yie-Ar Kung Fu. At the very least it should be worth the buy for Gradius and Contra.
Well it was still a fairly action packed week. I hope those that are on their spring breaks are enjoying them, and hopefully playing a lot of videogames. While I did decree the Oblivion expansion the Game of the Week, if you do not have a PC or Xbox 360, but you do have a DS, I strongly recommend picking up the Konami Classics. It seems like it would be a very fun game to play on the go. Anyways this is Captain Gordon signing off.

And C&C is a great series.
That deserves a bang.
