lol its crack

O Lucy Lawless, queen of the Lady Macbeth impersonators! Verily, we sing thy praises, for where would the penultimate episode of Spartacus be without thee? Long have you and John Hannah held this show aloft, but tonight, you outshine yourself with a third-act speech that reminds us why we love this show. Until then, we feared that “Reckoning” would merely serve as set-up for the finale. A lot of people gots to die, but not a one of them falls. Instead, we’re treated to the Night of 1,000 Facial Contortions, as Batiatus Senior (Jeffrey Thomas) stages a meaningless series of mock games in order to decide who really deserves to be a gladiator. He’s already rolled over and showed his soft underbelly to the series’ appointed douche bags, and we knew he was doomed from the start. But for most of the episode, he and the show’s other walking corpses simply mark time until the big money shot next week. And then – Raimi be praised – the once and former Xena steps into the spotlight and lands a sucker punch second to none. We couldn’t hope for a better lead in and Lawless makes sure we get one. Set your DVRs for next Friday kids; we’re gonna be there with bells on.
This show fucking rocks!!!
