A Special Announcement About Comics2Film From Rob M. Worley

By Rob M. Worley     April 09, 2008

It's been my distinct pleasure, for more than a decade now, to be at the forefront of this comics revolution. When it went online in 1997, Comics2Film was the first and only website completely devoted to this subject: the melding of my two favorite art forms.

A lot has changed since then.

We've seen the dreadful (1997's 'Batman and Robin') give way to the wonderful ('The Dark Knight'). We've seen Marvel go from being a bankrupt comics publisher to a full-on movie studio with a bulletproof track record. Once sporadic at best, comics-to-film announcements happen nearly every day now.

Last summer Comics2Film marked it's tenth anniversary online with an all new website design. Redeveloping the site was a difficult process and I've been very happy with the results. We've cultivated new features and a new sense of community. We've had the flexibility to listen to your feedback and respond quickly. While the improvements have been many, I've still felt like we could do better.

I'm pleased to announce that very soon now, Comics2Film is going to the next level.

Comics2Film has been purchased by one of the internet's longest-running entertainment news outlets Mania.com. Beginning this month, our news, fan art, blogs and community will join with their's.

Although C2F is under new ownership, it'll have the same management. Namely: me.

I'll still be here doing what I've done since 'Men in Black' debuted in theaters: gathering the news and letting you know what's new and exciting in the world of comic based movies.

Our outspoken bloggers like Savage Henry Lee, Supernaut, The Xenos and Black Machismo will still lend you a piece of their mind, and ask for a piece of yours in return.

We'll still have daily free stuff for you.

So why make the change then? Working with our new owners will allow us to make a quantum leap improvement in technology.

In the Fan Art Gallery, for example, artists will now enjoy state of the art tools for managing and displaying their artwork, supplanting the classic Gallery tools that seem dated by today's standards.

The new C2F will have all new community tools that go far beyond commenting on stories or posting to message boards. As a reader, your presence will be strengthened by modern web community tools that allow you to become a more active participant in the site!

Like never before, Comics2Film is you!

With our new partners at Mania, C2F will enjoy even greater access to insider information, which means more breaking news and unique content you won't find anywhere else.

Change is exciting, and I'm sure many of you have questions about what comes next. Please feel free to pose them, either in the comments area below, or via email to robbo@comics2film.com. I'll do my best to answer your questions and concerns.

We're very excited about moving in this new direction. The world of comic-based movies has never been more amazing. We're proud to have been there, with you, since the beginning.

We can't wait for you to take the next step with us.
