Finally, an awards show in which the participants cannot possibly rationalize a dance number.
The Visual Effects Society has announced it will begin the first annual VES Awards next February, which will honor achievements in... well, special effects. That means the eye candy which makes many of the worst movies somewhat bearable in our beloved genre, will finally get recognized. Right now, the awards will center on movies, TV shows and commercials, but in future years it is expected to honor video game effects as well.
No word yet on if and when the awards, which will be handed out in Los Angeles next February 19, will be shown on TV.
