By: Randall LarsonDate: Wednesday, September 21, 2005
The latest issue of Music from the Movies, #45/46 magazine is now on sale, and is a special 120-page double issue featuring a huge tribute to maestro composer Ennio Morricone.
For four and a half decades Ennio Morricone has produced seminal work for film. He has notched up a phenomenal tally of film projects to his name, which eclipses the output of most all other film composers. In November, Morricone will turn 77 years old, yet he is still slaving away in his study in Rome producing top-grade scores. Author Ben Horace spent 18 months researching his profile on the film music legend.
In addition to the profile, content of this special issue includes:
A Man To Respect Ben Horace speaks to a number of pioneering Morricone collectors and others who have brought The Maestro's work to a larger audience.
The Ennio Morricone Buyers Guide Looking to start collecting Morricone, but don't know where to begin? Roy Donga offers his advice to the aspiring Morricone collector.
Andrea Morricone and Yo-Yo Ma
Rudy Koppl offers an insight into the unique CD collaboration between The Maestro and the world-renowned cellist, and a concert conducted by Ennio's son, Andrea.
Also featuring...
