Fox has announced via a press release that they will be giving special advance screenings of ALIENS VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM in New York and Los Angeles. The special screenings will be done at 12:01 am on Christmas Eve. Here's the press release for those of you in those areas...

This Christmas Eve, as millions around the globe raise their voices in praise at midnight masses, New York City and Los Angeles-based fans of the iconic Alien and Predator can experience a very different take on the ritual …at special Midnight Mass-acre showings of AVP-R.

The events follow on the heels of Twentieth Century Fox servicing to press a special holiday gift: an AVP-R Christmas ornament promising that "This Christmas, there will be no peace on Earth."

There'll be little peace – but much fan anticipation – at the two Midnight Mass-acre locations: Hollywood's renowned Chinese Theatre and New York's Regal Union Square Stadium 14. The first 100 diehards in line at each Midnight Mass-acre will get a special stocking stuffer – commemorative shirts emblazoned with "I Survived Midnight Mass-acre Christmas Eve 2007."

Opening everywhere December 25, AVP-R sees the deadly beings from the two of cinema's scariest film franchises wage their most brutal battle ever – in our own backyard.

Plot Summary: In this follow-up to the worldwide hit "Alien vs. Predator," the iconic monsters from two of the scariest film franchises ever, wage war in an American Midwestern town – with the residents caught in the middle

Hmmm,,, I am not sure how many would be there on Christmas Eve, but if I didn't have to travel to 3 states between Christmas Eve and Day, I would be there. I am pumped for this movie. Everything I have seen looks tops. Bring on the Real AVP movie.

Whiskey I'm with you on that. Unfortunately I'll be working X-Mas eve but I'll be there Christmas day for sure. Regardless of what people say, everytime I see the trailer I get pumped for this movie. I think it looks great.

I'm looking forward to this movie, but I think this is a bad move. Christmas Eve showing? Won't work. *Maybe* 2 people per theater. That would be about it.

You are nuts. I went to a xmas eve show last year and it was completely packed. Same with xmas day. Its a good move, unfortunately the movie is going to be garbage. the last one was terrible so this one should be just as bad.

The word is already out, this movie is terrible.

The holidays can be depressing enough as it is. So why cause yourself misery by watching this trash?

Finally believable fiction at christmas. I know its not likely but at least I can believe species from space fighting. Its more believable then a fat ass cramming itself down a chimney or a woman cheating on her husband and getting knocked up so she blames it on a magic man no body ever will see to avoid getting stoned cause she cant keep it out of her pants. Its good to celebrate a lie each year on Dec 25th.

Alot of people will be there because famlies like movies good and bad and even more people are tired of religous bullshits. To bad the ALIEN chestbuster coming out of the 5 year old wont be on Christmas in Washington but there will be alot of parasites already. If I want trash I will watch passion of the christ, geesh.
