Newcomers Girls and Veep also nabbed a few big mentions, with both series up for outstanding comedy series and stars Lena Dunham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus both up for the lead actress in a comedy category.

They could have had several more Game of Thrones actors.

What I don't get is SHERLOCK is a BBC series that aired on PBS. How does that count for American TV? Nonetheless I hope Sherlock cleans up.

lusiphur 7/19/2012 12:12:57 PM

Downton Abbey is a BBC series also and it cleaned up last year.  Last I checked, PBS was still an American TV station.  I'm with you Robert, Sherlock deserves the recognition.  I just wish they'd do more than a 3 episode season.

Chopsaki 7/19/2012 12:24:46 PM

No love for The Walking Dead.../sadface. I hope Breaking Bad gets some wins!

hanso 7/19/2012 3:21:07 PM

Love for TWD?  Why why would they do that Chop?  T-Dog automatically disqualifies the show :)

Its a Mad Men world, we just living it!  Breaking Bad will get the acting moms, Jesse over the Imp yo!

InnerSanctum 7/19/2012 4:46:14 PM

 I can't stand Jimmy Kimmel.

Sherlock for best mini series.

InnerSanctum 7/19/2012 4:48:39 PM

American Horror Story?  Really?  Why did I watch it?  It was nothing but rehashed plots from other movies.  But, each week I was there.  And, it didn't have an ending.  From what I hear, the next season will be a whole new story.  WTF?

Game...of...Thrones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hanso 7/19/2012 4:53:17 PM

That should say acting noms, not moms.

ElBaz13 7/19/2012 5:25:39 PM

American Horror Story was very good. Denis O'Hare was exceptionally creepy/odd in the show.

The acting noms for the cast of Modern Family are well deserved although there should be a "best ensemble" category.

lazarus 7/19/2012 6:48:11 PM

They need to add a catagory, best televised shopping channel, best weather channel, best religious channel, best sports channel, best porn channel. This just proves most of tv is crap. And why are no cartoons on this list? South Park and Family Guy rules. But then I am an evil, cruel, sidistic bastard. :)
