Video game publisher Activision announced today that the company has shipped more than two million units of its latest console and computer game, SPIDER-MAN 2, to retail stores nationwide. It's a staggering number considering that the game just went on sale last week just before the Columbia Pictures movie opened.
In Activision's console version of the game, players jump into the spandex suit of Spider-Man and live the superhero's life as he battles crime in the heart of New York City. Mirroring the movie's storyline, the game lets you scale Manhattan skyscrapers, interact with traffic, swing down Times Square and battle supervillains such as The Rhino, Mysterio and Doctor Octopus. As well, players can perform side missions such as rescuing hapless citizens, performing good deeds and even delivering pizza for Peter Parker's part-time job.
CINESCAPE previewed the PlayStation 2 version of the game here and our final review of SPIDER-MAN 2 is available here.
