Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming up to make three films based on the character of Tintin. Each filmmaker will direct at least one of the movies but no one has been set/decided upon for the third film. Spielberg, Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy will produce all three films, which could possibly be released through DreamWorks Animation.

The trilogy will be based on the comic-strip hero Tintin created by Georges Remi.  Spielberg and Jackson have selected three stories from THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN series, which encompasses 23 books, to base the films on.

WETA Digital has already produced a twenty-minute test reel.  The movies will produced in full digital 3-D using performance capture technology.  The characters will look "photorealistic" claims Jackson rather than cartoonish.

maverickrenegade...Look at who is involved in this project and then ask yourself again if it's going to be good...Jackson has certainly proved himself when if comes to motion capture down there at WETA and of course we have speilberg and his genious so I see no reason that this should fail or be anything less than "good"

I don`t want to offend any tin tin fans but of all the cool projects Speilberg and Jackson, two directing titans could work on, they pick freakin Tin Tin?

WTF?

These two could make a feature film about Barbie and I'd be interested.

ponyboy76, my reaction exactly.
Ah well, I reckon it will be well done, at least...

Not at all familiar with the books but I did enjoy the cartoon when I was growing up. With Spielberg and Jackson's names attached I am most definitely interested.

Who the freakin' hell wants a movie made from a popular french cartoon called TinTin?

Shiat what's next! Hagar The Horrible, B.C. and The Wizard Of Id?

Come on now! Has Hollywood as a whole and now Spielberg and Jackson had a brain fart or what?

Seriously!

Family Circus would be far better than this drivel.

Hell abandon comic strips altogether and bring WildC.A.T.S. to the big screen or Silverhawks.

You seriously think TinTin is going to rake in big bucks? Maybe Charles Schulz "Peanuts" to the big screen but TINTIN.

God! Give Hollywood big box office bucks from other good movies and they think they can burn money on idiot projects that they know will not be as popular as an Alpha Flight, MoonKnight, Green Arrow or even a ROM: Spaceknight movie.

Of all the hair brained ideas - TINTIN.
