FOXNews caught up with Steven Spielberg after the Oscars and the director told them he would be taking a year off from making movies.

The reporter noted, "George Lucas told me recently that there's a script and he's happy with the story.

Spielberg replied, "George Lucas isn't the director. I am. I have David Koepp on it now, and he's my 'closer.' He wrote 'Spider-Man' and 'War of the Worlds,' so he'll get it done."

I personally don't see this movie EVER getting done. Spielberg has moved on to other things, and Lucas has such a big ego that he won't agree to produce any script that isn't his pathetic dribble. Meanwhile Harrison is getting so old it would be a joke anyway, Indiana Jones And The Medicare Crisis!

The article makes it almost sound like there's some bitterness or a mild dispute going on. Albeit Harrison is looking pretty old, he did perform some great stunts in his most recent film, so I am confident he'll be okay for this final Indiana Jones installment.

And you know, if it doesn't get made, that's okay too... because I am happy with the Indiana Jones trilogy and the finale of them all riding into the sunset.

Straight and to the point. Spielburg's a pro so he gonna make sure he gets the job done right.

Every flick Spielburg touches turns to gold so I can understand why he wouldn't want Lucas's grubby hands involved. There's a reason Spielburg cried after watching EP3.

#3 - EVERYthing?

Spielberg IS better than the vast majority of directors out there, I'll give him that, but I had a very hard time giving "The Lost World" a second viewing... especially how much it anally-raped the novel. I was shocked that they still listed it as being "based" on Michael Crichton's material, because other than two scenes and about four characters, it was nothing like it.

And the T-rex rampaging through San Diego? Did he just not care?

Well, let's see... a year off from movies... Koepp polishing the script... Harrison ford getting older...
So we'd see this movie in 2008 at the earliest. Yeah, I don't think it's gonna happen. Ford will be 65, three years older than Connery was in Last Crusade. This would have to occur in like 1959-1961

Also, it sounds like he was getting snippy with the reporter, not neccessarily Lucas.

I think it will get made, now will it be as good as Raiders and Temple, I would say Nope. I bet it will take place sometime in the 50's and he will be dealing with the Soviets, that is what I place my bet on.

But after the firewall bomb, I bet Ford wants to make a sure win.

With Koepp writing and Spielberg so closely involved, I think this film will get made and be great; a fitting finale to one of the greatest film series. The film will deal with Indy's advancing age as he goes on his last adventure. I'm looking forward to this movie a lot. Hopesfully Lucas won't have much to do with it, because he's not very good with dialogue and stories with any emotional depth.

If Lucas is happy with the script then there must not be a lot of dialog or emotional depth in it now. Hopefully Koepp and Spielberg can quickly clean it up and give us one last great adventure for Indy & Co.

Have no fear . . .

It'll get made. I'm actually glad ol' George is a little picky with the story & script material.Thats what he did for the others in case people forgot. When George & Steven get together magic happens.
