Neither Marvel or DC are racist... Not anymore at least. People need to realize that back during the Golden Age of comics, racism was an everyday word. People may not have spoken about it, but it was all over the place in all of it's pathetic and ignorant glory. (See the movie 'Red Tails' for further examples) Even up through the 60s racism was evident in comics... It wasn't until the 70s that we began to see black superheroes 'rise up' (insert Samuel L. Jackson Atlanta Falcons commercial here).

Falcon, Black Panther (*cough* what's in a name *cough*), Storm, Captain Marvel (yes, THAT one), and even a duo with a WHITE superhero (!) Power Man and Iron Fist (who should get their OWN movie!). There were others as well.

DC tossed in Black Lightning as their 'token' in the Super Friends, Mal Duncan of the Teen Titans (ok so just their token black friend), John Stewart (DC's pride and joy when it came to black superheroes I guess), Steel (Shaq...seperated at birth? He should play Steel in a movie! *facepalm* Boy do I regret ever thinking THAT!), Cyborg (my favorite black superhero from DC), etc...

ANYWAY, the point I'm trying to make is WHO CARES HOW MANY OF WHATEVER RACE ARE ON THE AVENGERS??? Oh yeah...the media. Those biggots need to stop pushing racism back on us! It's 2012 dammit!

GIVE US MORE FEMALE SUPERHEROES IN THE MOVIES!!! THAT IS WHAT WE FANS CARE ABOUT!!!

Wow, they are really packing it into this story.  I'd thought the Winter Soilder would be too dense for a single movie.  We shall see.  Bucky and the Falcon.  Hope they can keep their balance with this film.  Glad to see they finally have someone who isn't a white superhero.  Yeah, the race card can be played in this instance.  I was royally pissed they chose GOTG over Black Panther.

I have to say...the Captain America and Falcon stories from the early 80's were pretty awesome.  They made a great team.  To me, the Falcon was fantastic during that era.  He was even an Avenger.

Wait.  I forgot about Rodney in IM.

When does this take place?

Let's not forget about Static and Cloak from Cloak and Dagger. Two more black, relevant superheroes. Also Bishop from Xmen and the new Ultimate Spider man. Well he is not black really, he more Blacanese. Half Black half asian like Tiger Woods.

I hope they can do a good origin story for Falcon and really hope they keep SHIELD and Fury tied in somehow. I want this to be tied into Avengers 2.

Race doesn't automatically make a character intersting or not. Blade isn't fantastic because he is black, he is fantastic because he was given a purpose and (eventually) writers who given the go ahead to go and make actually interesting stories with him.

My problem with Falcon is that whenever he would appear it seemed that the writers either had nothing for him to do and were putting him in just to have someone there (ala Rick Jones) or they were handcuffed as they weren't allowed to make Falcon interesting for whatever reason.

Just about any character can be made interesting (amazingly they even managed to sort of make Speedball into something with the whole Peneance angle even if it was often contrived and shallow). Perhaps the Cap movie will give the character a chance but craming him into a rather full premise doesn't exactly get my hopes up. Now maybe I will be wrong but I really, really had a distaste for what was done to Rhodes in the Iron Man franchise and don't have any hope that the already dull Falcon will make out any better.

Don't know much about Cap other than the movies, this intrigues me though.

Falcon sucks. Plain and simple. And no, he could be white and still suck. Dumb costume. Dumb powers.

Sharon Carter should be Cap's "sidekick".

As for Sebastian Stan. Liked him as Bucky and he was also great as the Mad Hatter on Once Upon a Time.
