James Cameron will direct and it will be a Star Wars/Avatar co-sequel. The Na'vi will be attacked by the evil Earth corporation which will be taken over by the Sith. They want the planet's unobtanium because its strong with the Force. When they realize this, Luke, Leia, and Han will go there and receive new Avatar bodies to teach the Na'vi the ways of the Force and turn them into Jedi. Han will be reluctant to become an avatar and when he first wakes up in his nine foot blue body he'll say those immortal SW words, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Chewbacca will return as well. I mean the planet's a jungle. He'll fit right in. Threepio and R2D2 will also be there. Threepio will be be able to communicate their good intentions to the planet Pandora. "I speak 3 million languages, sir. Of course I speak planet."

Disney and Cameron please send me my screenwriting check now.

 @monketfoot - ROFL!!!! Awesome.

But we've already seen old Indy. He was an annoying old fuck in Young Indiana Jones telling stories of his past except for that one episode Harrison played him (and his then 4th appearance as Indy).

Anyone else see the rumours floating around about the return of Darth vader? While a bad idea the star Wars universe does support characters returning from the dead. I would have to look for the comics but I know the emperor comes back and has Super Super Star destroyers.

axia777: Are you telling us that the next Indy movie should be about how he dies alone in the jungle? Please. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of Indy fans would hate to see that movie. That, my friend, is a horrible idea. I see no other option than rebooting. If the franchise is on backburner, Ford may be 76 before the next one is made. I'm not sure he'd be able to do any kind of action sequences then. And what is Indy without some him doing some action scenes? Not Indy.

Decepticons2: God, I hope not. It's time to move on from Vader. He completed his destiny of bringing balance to the force. What more is there for him to do? Plus, if he came back, wouldn't he be a good guy? It doesn't add up.

 I like the idea of Ducan Jones tackling this, though he has been mentioned before with big budget blockbuster films and resisted.  I still like the director of District 9 over any I've heard rumored.

I want Shane Acker and if not then give me the guy that directed the tron movie or the guy that made district 9...

since they have a writer, I think it puts any director/writers out of the running, guys like Cameron, Nolan and Whedon, who honestly weren't candidates at all.  They'll be looking for someone who does good adaptation, I think Andrew Stanton has a serious shot at getting this gig despite John Carter's lack of financial success.  The first name I thought of was Brad Bird, but he's a got a gig going that will seriously conflict with this soon to be fast-tracked ep VII.  If not Stanton then maybe Jones or someone who's been really good with only 1 or 2 outings.  Somethings tells me it won't be a big name tentpole director.

BUT we will know within 2-3 weeks, they just can't wait any longer to get going on this..........
