I honestly think they will kibosh the TV series now that new movies are in the works. I think the whole point of the TV series was to replace movies in the future. But Smithers...I mean Rick McCallum said it was too pricey to do.

If they do a series, they might go the Marvel way. Have a TV series to tie in the cinematic universe like the SHIELD one will do.

Like the Avengers universe going with a tv series and movie universe all at the same time, same thing here.

Plus SW you can work on different timelines or different characters if you want to keep them separate

It's not just Star Wars folks!  Indiana Jones is part of the deal as well!

I have to admit, I'm not as cool with the notion of Indy being sold off as I was with Star Wars.  That franchise might be better off being left well enough alone, and I'm not sure Disney will be willing to let that happen.

 The ONLY criticism I have to this is I'll miss the Fox theme opening the movie!

 I'm absolutely fine with Indiana Jones being in the deal too. Lucas was the main hold up on getting the fourth one made wasn't he? He rejected scripts and storylines, and then look at the one he approved! Good grief.

So if his clammy fingers can be prised loose of the IJ franchise too I'm a very happy man.
