Date: Thursday, February 15, 2007

LucasArts has announced an official release date for it's upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game adventure.  That date?  November 2007.

The game, which will allow players to be Darth Vader's apprentice, has also launched an official website which contains 16 concept art images you may want to check out.  You can do so here.

Some of the game's new uses for the Force:

The Secret Apprentice, that's you, won't just use the Force to push enemies into walls, he'll Force push enemies through walls.

The Secret Apprentice also won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside, he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.

The game will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but plans are in the works for DS, PS2 and PSP versions as well.

KJ's Take:  Sounds friggin sweet as hell.  Seriously, sweet as hell!

Long ago were the days I would get excited about Star Wars stuff. This just doesn't do it for me anymore.

And is anyone else getting annoyed with the "epileptic seisure enducing" advertisements on this site? Half the time there's a glitch where the Mania news is embedded in the flashy advertisement.

You need to use a smart browser, instead of Micro$oft IE. Use Firefox with Adblock, and you can block out any advertisement content on any site.

Hey dawntreader you're giving your age away every time you fuss about games not being on PCs. Only middle aged men close to there forties play PC games. Besides the 360 and PS3 are basically PCs. Do your research chief. Invest in an XBOx. Trust me, you'll kick yourself in the head for playing games with a mouse and a keyboard all these years.

Not true there CardinalSin. Some games are simply better with a mouse/keyboard control scheme, such as FPS's. And that's ignoring the reality that porting an XBox game to the PC is considerably easier than say, a PS3 game would be.

bhebert, yeah, I know I should. Force of habit I guess.

Lucasfilm: Massive multiplayer online X-Wing vs Tie Fighter... 20 space battle scenarios, space bar to respawn from base ships. Joystick fun and entertainment. Just take the old game engine, update the graphics, and let us have 30 players + 30 cpu vs 30 players + 30 cpu on either side (or more). ;)

Hey Cardinal Sin, you're giving your age away when you think a 30-something is 'middle aged'.
