Bespin Leia might not be showing much skin but she's cute as hell. I think Darth Maul holding a fan illustrates why not too many people are walking around in wookie costumes heh. Star Tours 2 is gonna rock.

I did the star tours thing when I was about 20 years old and thought it sucked.  Thought it was out dated at that time especially with Back To The Future ride kicking its arse.  I'm suprirsed it took this long to retire it. Now they need to retire that Indiana Jones stunt thing. 

Rather than the whole room on tour like the original, they need individual rooms for Pod Racer rides. That would be SICK!!!!!!!

I haven't seen Star Tours. Maybe this new one will be worth the wait.

The reimagineered Star Tours is going to be very interesting.  3D screens, 4D effects in the cabin, and a unique ride film every time you ride (or, at least the vast majority of the time!)  The timeline of the "tour" will be inbetween the two trilogies and rumor has it you will not see Bespin, Alderran, or Endor in the ride.

The ride film is supposed to be divided into three parts... beginning, middle, and end.  Each part has several different versions and the computer will pick one version from each part to make a whole ride film.  So, let's assume there's five different films for each part... that's 125 different variations of the film you could see, each with their own in cabin effects.

Hopefully the Starspeeders will be upgraded as well, making the ride smoother.  The queue is expected to have new dialogue and possibly some new effects and characters added to it as well.  There has been no word on what the outside of the building will look like when it reopens.

I've never seen the Star Tours AT-AT before, when did that thing go up???  That's freaking awesome!   Last time I was there was summer of 2007 I do believe...

Ultrazilla - Did you ride the one at Disneyland or Disneyworld? The AT-AT is only outside of the ride in Florida.

Loved this ride, when I was 9, the outside was great also you got so close to R2 and C3P0 and they talked and argued with each other, I was in heaven. I also rode it again when I was 19 and still loved it but yes compared to Back to the Future and Star Trek the expirience it was very dated. I am sad to see it go and would love to ride it one more time but I will not make it. Can't wait to make it out to try number 2.

When are they going to do the Star Tours Holiday Special ride overlay? They do Christmas ride overlays for Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World. Why not a Holiday Special overlay for Star Tours?
