Actually, CJ, most of the Trek fans your post speaks to are praising jeebus for the fact that JJ jumped ship to do SW. Those are the Trek fans who hate the JJ Trek movies because they are just Star Wars with Star Trek ships. The hardcore Trek fandom has been calling for JJ to leave Trek since 2009.  SW gave them their wish.  The casual fan and the general public are the people that liked JJ's Trek.  They don't give a poop that he's gone, and 98% of them probably won't know that he's gone even after they see the next Trek movie.

Personally, I like both properties.  I'm not a hardcore fan of either.  All I want are good Trek and good SW movies.  I don't care who makes them.  I enjoyed both JJ Trek movies, and I'm fine with him doing SW as I do think that's more up his alley than Trek.

Wiseguy - maybe it's simply proper grammar and word usage I could care less about. ;)

I was 5 years old when star wars came out. 5.  It was the second movie I ever saw.

I don't get the Harrison Ford - "Don't ask Harrison any Star Wars questions" excuse.  Harrison's going to get asked questions regardless, and, IMO, keeping up this "will he, won't he?" game only leads to more questions.

I personally get annoyed when Harrison gets on his pouty, anti-Star Wars tirades.  If it wasn't for Star Wars and George Lucas, he would have been a two-bit carpenter putting up set stages for his career.  The movies are universally loved and one of the most successful franchises of all time, so man up Mr. Ford and be proud of it!

Ford has always been cranky.  Ungrateful?  I have no idea, because I don't think pandering to fans means he isn't thankful for the break in his career.  He has always been edgy.  He has notably bristled against Lucas and Ridley Scott.  And, yeah, having to answer the same questions from geeks when he can't answer anything would be a bit annoying.  However, that said, I do think he became more of a "douche" when he started wearing the stud diamond ear ring.  Which is unbelievably gay for a middle aged man to do.

And, I agree Hanso....bring back TV Wasteland!!!

LOL! InnerSanctum.

I said the same of Ford when he started wearing that earring.

And yes, I always hated when he would get on these anti-Star Wars tirades or not show up on reunions and stuff. But, this was mostly when his career was still hot. He has mellowed with it over the past few years since he was part of that huge group picture for Vanity Fair (Ewan MacGregor, Sam Jackson, Harrison, you name them and they were there). Plus he did speak at that anniversary of ESB years ago and participated in the Empire of Dreams documentary.

We all know he will do this. He is not the box office draw he use to be and I'm sure he knows this is a guaranteed paycheck and maybe re-energize his career working with Abrams.
