I’m not sure of the source, The Wookie Gunner, but the footage is legit. This is probably the short for this week’s Star Wars Rebels. Check out this scene where Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and the crew of The Ghost discuss the mission at hand.

What's with the animation, especially of the kids hair? It looks like a helment and is shiny. I loved The Clone Wars but with the animation of Rebels something is off.

Rare hairless Wookiee. Love it.

Yeah, helmet hair. It is a lowish res video, maybe the texture is getting a bit fuzzed. Or maybe he is using Wookiee strength shampoo, conditioner and hairspray.

I have to say, saw the ENTIRE episode at the FanExpo in Toronto, Canada this weekend. It was awsome. About 800 people saw it in a theatre environment which apparently was 600 more then the 200 who saw it at the SDCC (the SW producer told us).

It was super cool, the show was funny, the music was excellent and used a LOT of the original trilogy themes which was great. The characters seem very interesting and the theme itself will be very different yet familiar to the SW universe.

The animation was good, it's because the tone and environment of the show is different than Clone Wars but it was all great.

They might as well go all the way and and make them look like the lego's they intend to sell from the show. It's a shame to see that animation has openly become the advertisement for the toys as opposed to the toys spring forth from a great show. I know toy sales etc. has been a big considerastion for any animated production on TV for quite a while but I wish it wasn't so blatant now. We lost a good show, Young Justice, because of it.

Everything I've seen from this looks pretty darn good, so far... I'm liking the characters and the story seems solid.

Art and concept is great too... I loved those tie-fighters hanging from the transport - it reminded me of a WWII German blimp.

I'd sure like to see the kid take his backpack off, though.
