Star Wars Returns to Pinewood Studios

Another piece in place

There are little pieces of news surfacing almost every day on Star Wars Episode VII. The latest is that the cast and crew will return to Pinewood Studios. This is great news for all Star Wars buffs as a return to Pinewood marks a return to the same sound stages as previous Star Wars films.
Pinewood already has a busy slate “before Star Wars gets underway in early 2014 with Cinderella, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2 among major titles due to get underway at the studios”.
Production for Episode VII begins in early 2014.
Episode VII is being written by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) and is being directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness). The film is scheduled for release in the summer of 2015.

That's funny, I didn't think any of the previous films were shot at Pinewood - I know Shepperton where Ep. III was shot was later bought by Pinewood, though.

Wiseguy, get used to it. I was given assignment to go to Germany. Star Wars Celebration News coming your way this July!

Wiseguy 6/23/2013 11:29:20 AM

Bob why do I feel that maybe you campaigned for that assignment :)

So no one's going to SDCC?

...and this means the movie will rock more because...

now, if they had said, filming to begin in Norway, Morocco, or High Sierras Northern California then I would have had a stiffy...

Disney will rule global box office! Imagine if they bought Walmart and Microsoft? :)

As long as Abrams kills the green/blue screen crap. That was waaaaaaaaay overdone in the prequels. No wonder the actors were kind of flat. Not easy to act in front of green paint talking to 2 hovering tennis balls all day.

Go back to the basics. Costumes, sets and location.

As long as Abrams has a story with somewhat belivable dialouge, it's a sci-fi fantasy movie afterall, and actors who don't see related to redwoods and Al Gore...
