I will get it if, and only IF... they have the original trilogy, unmodified in it.  Otherwise, I'm going to just ignore this.

I'll be getting a complete set, as usual.  I might even be able to bring myself to watch the prequels at least once.  Maybe I'll invite a bunch of friends over, and we'll have an MST3K party.  Or, maybe I'll just get really drunk first.

Gotta have the OT in HD, though.  I wanna see every possible bonus feature ever made since day one on this thing, George!

Sorry guys gonna pass on this! I was expecting some corrections on this one but I guess everyone will have to settle with the Aft part of the Thrust Engine still being pink, Vaders Saber still not trully Red (pinkish lol). I wonder if they fixed those Tie Fighter Green Screen outlines? Maybe the Episode I Yoda Puppet replaced with CG Yoda from Episode II or III. Han Drawing First put back in! Color Corrections? Saw the Blue Ray Star Wars Trailer, doesnt look like they touched up on anything!

Oh well, I'll stick with the Adywan versions as the latest until Lucas Decides to do the "Ultimate Most Excellent Star Wars Blue Ray Directors cut Ootidi Version!!! "Sigh"

Till Then I'm Stickin with my Star Wars DVD Collection. If I can get the Deleted Scenes and Extra Footage Disks on Ebay or something I'll most likely do that! No More of my Republic Credits going to the cause, less I see some Improvements. Ootidi !!!

I'm wondering...will they be releasing these latest Star Wars box sets just on blu ray or will they be releasing this on dvd as well? Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't look like they will. Anyway, I'd like to see Adywan create a blu ray version of Star Wars Revisited as well as his Empire Strikes Back Revisited, now that would be awesome!

Glad i was smart and held off buying any box sets or DVD's all this time. This is what i have been waiting for a SAGA EDITION box set! I could give a CRAP about 3D. I am a HUGE star wars geek and i know how lucas is and i have decided not to buy any untill a SAGA edition came out. Sure i used to have the VHS box ser of the original trilogy before the prequels. Blu ray will be fine for me...3D transfers blow and 3D all together isnt all that impressive to me especially home 3D.

Keithdaniel- They have been on DVD for years now...you can go to best buy and get them for like $30 a pop (prequel and original triology box sets)

jedi4sshield 1/8/2011 7:13:09 AM

Keithdaniel I would also like to see an Adywan version in Blue Ray as well, I'd gladly pay my hard earned Republic Credits to have it but unfortunately as he stated he'd have to start all over again with the effects and color correction translated to Blue Ray! Man thats alot of work to redue. Wish he do it for Empire too but I think that too is going to be DVD. If only Lucas granted him access to the HD Versions "Sigh" Sooner.  : (

Hobbs: I was referring to what Lucas talked about. The Blu-Ray is just the release of the saga in hi-definition. This isn't the Definitive Edition. That edition, as Lucas explained, will contain all the final tweaks to the movies that he intends. Remember, they still have to release these movies in 3D, which will be after the Blu-Ray movies arrive. And if you still think the Blu-Ray is the final go around, then wait and see if they include the CGI Yoda in The Phantom Menace and the scene of Luke Skywalker finishing his lightsaber in Return of the Jedi.

I'll be getting this if they use the original trilogy as they were first made. Han shooting first and Hayden not added at in at the end of Empire. Those are the movies I want to see.

Don't worry, this is only the begining. Next will be the 3D Blu-ray edition, then it will be packaged with the clone wars, then with the live action series coming out...... so many possibilities to keep us paying for more.
