Darkknight, what I meant when I asked if Lucas was going to release "these latest Star Wars box sets" is that would he also release the same bonus materials including the various documentaries and deleted scenes on dvd as well as the entire SW saga. I know he released the 2004 box set (which I have) as well as releasing them again in 2006 along with the original trilogy as bonus material. I'm asking because I'd like to take Adywan's dvd SW and ESB versions and add any deleted scenes that I like from this next box set and create my own versions of the Star Wars trilogy. This question goes out to anyone who has an answer, if this next SW set isn't re-released on dvd (including the deleted scenes) I'm wondering, is it possible to take the deleted scenes from the new blu-ray set and transfer them onto dvd versions?

I am with Tashiro on this one...I really only want to spend money on the original theatrical versions of the Original Trilogy

Now that we finally have the Star Wars blu-ray box sets coming out next fall, how about George Lucas consider his fantasy adventure Willow blu-ray? This time include MORE bonus features including a new overall "making of" documentary, more production photos and most of all, releasing all of the deleted scenes (many of which should never have been cut!), including the scene where Willow encounters a strange boy-like creature who warns him to stay away from the island and then afterwards on his way back is attacked by a large shark monster! Come on George, you've made us wait too long for the release of the original SW trilogy deleted scenes that we're finally going to get next fall on blu-ray, so now it's time you release Willow on blu-ray with MORE features including ALL OF THE DELETED SCENES!

For the people waiting for the original theatrical versions you all will be waiting for a very very long time.  As in you will never get them in Blu Ray form.  VHS tapes are the best you are ever going to get.

Axia777, the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy were released on dvd several years ago.  They were two-disk sets, with the Special Edition on one disk and the original theatrical version on the other.  The Star Wars disk doesn't even have "Episode IV: A New Hope" in the opening crawl.

Wyldstaar:  I forget about those, but I am pretty sure I read that Lucas said he was never going to release the "originals" on Blu Ray....

Very true, but Lucas also stated that the special editions were the true editions, and therefore Lucasfilm would never release the original theatrical versions in any format.  George caved to fan pressure with the dvd release a few years later.
