Some of you may have heard about the original premise for Star Wars. Or perhaps you read Star Wars The Annotated Screenplays (buy it here on by Laurent Bouzereau back in 1997. If you haven’t, then you are in for a real treat. This September, Dark Horse Comics is going to release The Star Wars. The original vision of Star Wars that George Lucas penned so many years ago. USA Today had the exclusive teaser trailer for the new comic. Check it out below.

Synopsis: The eight-issue comic launching Sept. 4 is an adaptation of Lucas' first rough draft from May 1974 of a story that imagines galactic drama between an all-encompassing Empire, the fledgling rebel alliance forming to fight it, an ancient order of Jedi and the evil Sith warriors tapped to wipe out those Jedi.

This should be an interesting comic to read, looking forward to this and the art looks great too.

I will never see this.  I certainly wouldn't pay to do so, yet i a vaguely interested.

Very cool commercial for a comic!

I might be 'mis-remembering' this, but Annikin Starkiller evolved INTO Luke Starkiller then Lucke Skywalker, they were not seperate characters...

Still, this is going to be fun and one of the few times I would like to see a comic adapted into a full cast motion comic, with 1930s versions of Ben Burt's sound FX it could be a lot of fun!

And when will  Hasbro be releasing the action figures?

RobertTrate 8/7/2013 6:30:40 PM

They already did some McQuarrie figures... so they are half done...

DarkXid 8/7/2013 9:11:21 PM Luke Skywalker supposed to look like George Lucas?

Screw Hasbro and their comic related properties. I'm in Thailand and I can't read any of IDW's TMNT comics but they region block anything they gave people license to produce. Guess they don't want my money.  I'd torrent the hell out of it but I can't figure out how to do all that. Or my computer won't let me do it.
