STARGATE: ATLANTIS information surfacing

New details about the characters and premise for STARGATE ATLANTIS are emerging from the FilmJerk website. According to the site, production on the SG-1 spinoff show is scheduled to commence in February 2004.
As reported by FilmJerk, SPOILER INFORMATION FOLLOWS:
"STARGATE: ATLANTIS follows an international team of scientists and military personnel representing Earth who have ventured to a newly discovered and abandoned Ancient City on a distant planet in the Pegasus Galaxy. From there, they encounter a whole new Stargate network that leads to numerous human populated worlds. They will also come to face a sinister new enemy called the Wraith who is even more powerful than the Ancients who were originally being sought."
Casting breakdowns for three of the show's main characters, Dr. Elizabeth Weir, Major John Sheppard and an alien woman named Mikala, can be read by visiting FilmJerk.
