STARGATE increases ratings success

After dipping temporarily following some controversial cast changes, it looks like the SciFi Channel-exclusive incarnation of STARGATE SG-1 is getting the kinds of ratings that make networks very happy.

The show, since leaving its first-run status on the pay cable channel Showtime and being taken over by the sister-network SciFi, has become one of the top ten basic cable shows in America. What's more, it's giving SciFi the best series ratings ever, with the season finale on August 23 snagging 1.6 million viewers, the best showing ever for the channel.

For those of you behind on your STARGATE, the network announced it will begin showing four-hour blocks of the show every Monday starting September 30, in preparation for the show's return, with 11 new episodes, in January.
