STARGATE SG-1 renewed for eighth season

According to a report appearing today on Sci-Fi Wire, MGM Television President Hank Cohen stated that an eighth season of STARGATE SG-1 will definitely happen. Cohen stated this during a SG-1 panel conducted at last week's Comic-Con.
Sci-Fi Wire also reports that the news was unexpectedly received by STARGATE co-star Amanda Tapping. "This is the first I've heard of it," the website quotes Tapping as saying (and for the record she was happy about the news.)
