The screenwriter from Paul Verhoeven's 1997 film is back with a new bug stomping story to tell. As well, Ed Neumeier serves as a producer on STARSHIP TROOPERS 2, with special effects supervisor Phil Tippett ready to supply direction. As part of the deal, Tippett's FX house will reportedly deliver feature quality special effects at a reduced price for the owner's directorial debut.

July 9, 2003... Moviehole has more brand new images from the upcoming direct-to-video sequel STARSHIP TROOPERS 2: HERO OF THE FEDERATION. Directed by FX master Phil Tippett, the sequel features a new cast of futuristic soldiers who pick up the battle against the bugs, this time on a remote outpost stationed on planet Angel Zulu. The film stars Richard Burgi, Sandrine Holt, Jason Shane Scott and Colleen Porch.

Moviehole has images showing the new troopers standing around holding their guns, looking a bit worried that their can of Raid is about to run out. Check out the rest of the goods for yourself over at Moviehole.

February 2, 2004... The world's leading authority on Heinlein bug stomping techniques, Starship Troopers 2.net has now posted a 15-second television spot for the upcoming direct-to-video sequel. So far from what we can tell shown in the commercial is that there will be more soldiers, more bugs, more screaming and more bug stomping.
