Starting today Riddick escapes from BUTCHER BAY

Vivendi Universal Games has now shipped THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY to retail stores. The game, available for Microsoft Xbox, should begin appearing on shelves starting today.

ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY is a prequel to both PITCH BLACK and the new film THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, telling the story of how Vin Diesel's anti-hero escaped from the galaxy's most infamous prison, the triple max security slam known as Butcher Bay. Playing as Riddick, you'll use stealth, strength and hand-to-hand combat to fight your way out of the slam and escape to freedom. The game features more than 30 levels set across three different security zones, more than 20 different enemy types and 15+ weapons ranging from home-made shivs to high-powered rifles.

RIDDICK star Vin Diesel was involved two-fold for the creation of the game. The actor not only provides his character's gruff voice for the Xbox action, he's also the founder of Tigon Studios, the game developer behind ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY. Also providing voices for BUTCHER BAY are Cole Hauser (who reprises his character Johns from PITCH BLACK), Ron Perlman (HELLBOY) as Jagger Valance, Kristen Lehman as Shirah and Willis Burks as Pope Joe.
