Eidos Interactive has released five new screenshots from its forthcoming third-person stealth action video game THIEF: DEADLY SHADOWS.

The third in Eidos' popular THIEF game franchise, players once again assume control of Garrett, a highly proficient thief that lives in a world similar to the Middle Ages, but where magic and dark gods also exist. All Garrett wants to do is ply his trade, steal from the rich and give to himself, but fate has other plans in store for the adventurer. Ancient prophecies hint that Garrett will play a hand in the resurrection of a Dark Age that approaches. Two rival religious factions, the Order of the Hammer and the Pagans, are warring over ideology, threatening to engulf the city in chaos. Recruited by The Keepers, the secret society of theives that first trained Garrett, the master thief investigates castles, mansions, prisons, cathedrals, dungeons, and museums, sneaking past armed guards, hired muscle, angry thugs, hideous monsters, and much worse. Garrett is out to steal the city's oldest treasures - treasures that can help stop the darkness foretold in the prophecies.
