What They Say
Make the 'Stellvia Original Soundtrack' the center of your anime universe with its 43 tracks of easy-going and invigorating cosmic theme instrumentals by veteran anime composer Seikou Nagaoka (Tenchi Muyo!, El Hazard, Dual!) and the fantastic vocals of angela, including their performance of the intro song 'Brilliant Road to Tomorrow' and the two ending songs 'Beautiful Night Sky' and 'The End of the World.'

The Review!
43 tracks. The sheer number of songs here makes it worth the money, even if the quality is only so-so. However, the quality is not 'only so-so'. This is a well-thought-out release, with both slick packaging and slick production values. A few cute Angela tracks certainly do nothing bad to this already enjoyable disc. The only thing that this disc suffers is the repetition of the main themes over and over. However, that is fairly normal for soundtracks that have many short tracks such as this. One thing that makes it much nicer than some others is that each track is rounded off nicely, even if it didn't have to be. I'm not certain who, besides Stellvia fans, I would recommend this disc to, and that upsets me a little. Its a good disc, but I doubt many will find a true enjoyment from the music here.
Where I took this: While unwinding during AnimeNEXT, I took a little alone time and sat with this.
Where it took me: I felt like I was flying. And flying and flying and flying. I could have used a little variety, especially since I was about to get on a plane.
Standout track: Premonition of a Breeze - This was almost like a track form a Miyazaki film, and it carries with it that kind of sweetness that was very apparent and nicely presented on this disc.
Skip-it track: Beautiful Night Sky (TV Version) - This ended up sounding obnoxious at the end of a pleasant, if uninspiring, album. It was too much of a jump in the smooth flow of tracks.
