THE NEW YORK TIMES notes the scheduled presence of action star Steven Seagal in a federal courtroom on Tuesday. The trial at which Seagal is to testify is a racketeering trial for six prosecutor-identified members of the Gambino crime family.

The star's testimony is to turn on an extortion incident that took place in Brooklyn. Prosecutors have requested that defense attorneys be prevented from questioning Mr. Seagal concerning another recent mobster trial in which Mr. Seagal gave testimony, in this case concerning a dispute over a rental house in Germany.
