Powers Trailer from NYCC 2014 (Article) - 10/13/2014 12:57:03 PM

Looks like they stole a few elements from The Boys.

The 'Burbs Steelbook Blu-ray Review (Article) - 9/19/2014 7:40:42 AM

There are many forgotten Tom Hanks masterpieces out there that deserve more recognition and fanfare, The Burbs is one of those movies.  There are movies from the 80's that I think deserve a remake or reboot such as Monster Squad.  I could never see Hollywood remaking The Burbs.  There was suspense, minor gore, and comedy.  Tom Hanks's facial expressions were classic.  The only movie from the 80's in which I think of Hanks's comedic timing being perfect was the Money Pit, another one of my favorites.

Top Toys of Summer 2014 (Article) - 9/3/2014 6:41:46 AM

One minor correction, that is not the Storm from the 80's, that is Storm's current look in the comics.  Outfit, Mohawk, the whole nine yards.  Haven't seen these figures yet, but I will be looking.  Pulp Fiction and Firefly Toys are pretty much must haves in my book.

Mania Review: Oculus (Article) - 4/11/2014 6:49:40 AM

@rogue188 - Flanagan wouldn't be alone, King wasn't a big fan of the movie either.

@SinisterPryde - Although I think Saw was fairly original and had some good twists at the end, the parade of sequels afterward cheapened it.  I didn't like Hostel so I won't try defending it.  There have been some decent horror films released in the last few years.  I liked Sinister and You're Next (even though I think the title sucks).  I don't think either of them were all that original or award winning; I do think they were executed well.

Evangeline Lilly Confirmed for Ant-Man (Article) - 3/28/2014 5:59:07 AM

I always liked Eric O'Grady as Ant Man.  I just thought his story was a bit cooler.  He steals the technology to get with women.  You go from disliking him, to feeling bad for him, to kind of liking him.  I know it's not everyone's favorite Ant Man, but I like the Antihero types.

New Green Goblin Photo - Best Yet? (Article) - 3/27/2014 1:31:55 PM

I don't understand what the big gripe is with the first Spiderman saga starring Tobey Maguire.  Did I like the third one?  It wasn't anything special, but the first two were good.  Number one, the acting in the first two was good to great in some instances.  Number two, the directing was good to great in some instances.  Did Raimi take some liberties with costumes and abilities?  Yeah he did, but they didn't detract from the movie, in my opinion.  The Amazing Spider-Man was boring and hokey.  I won't see the second one at the theatres, just as I didn't see the first one at the theatres.

Big Trouble in Little China Comic Coming (Article) - 3/11/2014 8:24:58 AM

I  own a hat and hoodie that has the Pork Chop Express logo on it.  I get questioned all the time about it, I usually just answer "You wouldn't understand".  I'm a huge Sideshow Collectibles collector and I've written them several times begging for a BTILC and a Goonies line of collectibles.  Who wouldn't want a small statue of Chunk doing the Truffle Shuffle on their desk? A sexy statue of Kim Cattral in her Geisha outfit?

The Walking Dead: Still Review (Article) - 3/4/2014 9:26:33 AM

I disagree with the grade.  It was the best episode this half-season.  I think the writers are painting a picture of the world inhabited by the survivors.  They are trying to portray the zombies as background and that the real dangers in this world come from the living.  This episode, to me, was more about reincarnation and growing up.  All the survivors are dead, the life they lived is over, the person they were is a desecated corpse they get a glimpse of in the purgatory between scavenging and fighting.  Living isn't picnics with the family or getting a gun pulled on you by a junkie, it's avoiding being the picnic and having a gun pulled on you by a junkie. Darryl and Beth are both trying to escape their grief through alternate means.  Beth is growing up and so is Daryll by trying to emerge from the shadows of his father and brother.  I didn't like the music of this episode, or many of the episodes.  AMC usually gets the music right in their shows, Breaking Bad was particularly good at that.  I'm not sure who is picking the music, but they need to have a sit down with TBone Burnett.

The Walking Dead: Claimed Review (Article) - 2/24/2014 4:39:40 PM

Didn't call him out on grammar, just prose.  If you are going to criticize something, you need something more than a recap.  Otherwise don't leave a grade, just call it a recap instead of a review.  I don't mind being called out on my grammar in a comments section, you're right I should've used your.  Had I proofread I'm sure I would've caught that, but I didn't and it undoubtedly looks bad.  However, that does not mean I'm wrong about his review.

The Walking Dead: Claimed Review (Article) - 2/24/2014 3:49:59 PM

Jesus the writing in this article is horrible.  It's like listening to a 16 year old kid describe the world to a blind man.  "So, like there's cars and stuff and they sometimes go fast, but sometimes they go slow"  You're going to criticize the writing in a T.V. show with bad writing of you're own?  You could have saved yourself and everyone else some time and just typed "This episode sucked!!!" or some other vaguely terse description.
