They said they are only going through the books and that the show would be a finite show. But it will last more than three seasons.

For antone thinking that this will be another vamp show.... You are WRONG!!!!! Del Toro and Hogan made Vamps what they should be, MONSTERS. And Fucking badass monsters at that.
This series Finally shows what kind of agenda real world vamps would have for the world and it is Damn scary.
Does the first book get better? I'm having trouble making it through it. I can tell, by the writing, that it reads like a teleplay. I can see it being a TV series.
I thought about picking these up because I like Del Toro usually, but I gotta admit that I am kinda getting vampired out. Seeing these post, may change my mind. I would like to see vamps as killers again, instead of a romance tool.
InnerSanctum, the book doesn't get better, IMO. Nor does the trilogy. Not a fan of this series at all. I read this after Jasper Kent's "Twelve" and the drop in writing quality was quite obvious. The Strain's storyline drove me mad. At least they don't sparkle.
wait did you guys say vampires as killers again, dark and violent? does that exist anymore? i thought that piece of crap twibite killed vampires being badasses. count me in to watch and read this series
It's an pretty good series. I like it's take on the origins of vampires.
Sick of vampires; I don't care if they're Twilight vampires, Blade vampires, Dusk to Dawn vampires, Near Dark vampires, Buffy the Vampire Slayer vampires. Not interested in this in least bit right now. I'll take a look at it 5 years from now if it's good.
Before everyone moans and groans about another vampire show, these books are dark, violent and awesome and with Del Toro/Hogan on board to bring their trilogy to the screen, I have nothing but faith.
I guess my only curiousity will be how they will extend their story past the trilogy if it becomes very popular as one book per season will make sense.
