I really enjoyed this episode, too. The scene in the house, when he's looking for the little girls father, definitely gave me chills.

I hope next episode they give us the shed scene, like in the comics. For what I've seen in 'next week's episode' scenes, there is something on a shed. Boy, am I excited...

Here we go again rkngl... Just like in the GOT threads, now here.  Why is it that in every television series that is based off literary work that you feel compelled to forshadow what is coming?  I get it, you read ahead... you know what is coming.  A for you.  I know your rebuttle will be that you didn't spoil anything, but now if I see a shed in the coming episodes... I know that something compelling is about to happen thanks to you.  I'm not trying to single you out but it's a problem on these threads.  Book Readers did this several times in the GOT threads this past season with the topper, some jerk throwing out a stoneheart reference.  Let's please keep these comment sections to discussing the epidsode at hand, not what's coming.

I'm also enjoying how the series is unfolding. We've all seen vampire movies before but this is a different take on how it occurs and I like watching things develop.

Yeah, the bathroom urinal thing was real creepy. Did I just hear something drop off into the toilet!?!?!

I just noticed that the episode title was Gone Smooth... that's funny

Yes, I read the books (not the comics tho), and yes, I remember what happens next - but out of respect of the others who haven't read the source material I won't spoil what happens.

Yeeeessssss, I have read the books and YOU haven't. Kneel before your god! I know everything there is to know about GoT and The Strain!

The Walking Dead, on the other hand... I mean, really, the other hand... the one Rick Grimes loses on the comic... feels like The Bible but Jesus kills the Romans with a machine gun... know the feeling?

The original source is what makes this shows great. People want to be surprised but, at the same time, want the source to be respected. The Strain is accomplishing it, by keeping the same thread as the comic but changing minor details. Vasily Fet is a great character in the comic, and they chose a very good actor for the part. On GoT, they moated it all up, building suspense to short scenes, and filling this last season with exposition. And The Walking Dead, that show that shares the same name with the comic but nothing else...
