FX has released a full trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain. The series is based on a novel co-written by del Toro. The Strain will get 13 episodes on FX arriving July 13th. Mania will cover this series when it arrives. 

Synopsis: The Strain is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

The Strain premieres Sunday, July 13th on FX.

I enjoyed the books well enough. They were pretty dark though. By that I mean little humor, little hope & pretty fatalistic. At least the vampires were nasty & didn't sparkle.

 I liked the trilogy, just wondering if the first season covers the first book or more?

Haha Wiseguy.  I loved this series so I can't wait to see the show.  The Master looked badass!

 I remember reading that John Hurt had been cast as Abraham Setrakian. That didn't look like Hurt.

Nice to see Kevin Durrand as Fet though.

Cool trilogy. Looking forward to the show.
