TLA Releasing has acquired the rights to the movie STRANGE CIRCUS the latest film from director Sion SOno.

TLA acquired the film from Japan-based Sedic International at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. The film will be released as part of TLA's Danger After Dark label in 2007.

"We work very hard to remain loyal to our filmmakers and when the opportunity allowed us to work with Sion Sono again, we were thrilled ." Says Mr. Wolff. "STRANGE CIRCUS is a visually disturbing and edgy film that will certainly cause a stir because it plays with audiences perspectives and emotions in the most unconventional way, making it an original addition to our Danger After Dark label."

In STRANGE CIRCUS, adolescent Mitsuko is forced to watch her parents' lovemaking by her perverted father and her domineering mother, who imprison her in a cello case employed with a peephole. When Mitsuko's mother dies, her father forces the girl to be the victim of his incestuous desires, driving her to attempt suicide with a leap from a height, yet all of this is apparently a new novel being penned by reclusive, wheelchair-bound author Taeko (Masumi Miyazaki, who also plays the mother). Or is it? Taeko is assigned a new assistant named Yuji and the two begin a sexual relationship in Taeko's ornately designed estate. But we soon must question the real identities of both Taeko and Yuji as bloody clues begin to surface.

When Hollywood remakes this it will be a "delightful" body-switch comedy starring Adam Sandler and Lindsay Lohan - with an unfunny cameo by Rob Schneider as an inbred, deformed infant. The title will be "Jerk, You Wearin' My Body - Yo?".

What a premise, could really be a disturbing film.

Wow... those Japanese are really pushing the envelope over there and addressing some interesting issues without being porography.

You know, it's amazing...the Japanese have such a stable, clean, respectful society. And yet they come up with the freakiest, gonzo sex stuff you'll ever see.

If you want to understand just how screwed up the Japanese are, head over to www.somethingawful.com. They review and comment on the horror (and I do mean horror) of Japanese anime p0rn. This movie sounds tame and toned down in comparison.

>the Japanese have such a stable, clean, respectful society.

Regardless of how things look on the surface, Japanese culture has always been pretty bizarre once you start looking at their society in any depth. Their ancient Shogun culture was almost alien to the Western world. Having a bad on the job often ended with a Japanese Dilbert falling on his sword. They still regard their emperor as god. And ss little as 60 years ago, their soldiers routinely ate the flesh of their enemies in order to gain their strength.

Their decline into sexual perversions is no surprise.

I too have studied Japan, and though what you say is true, they are a very honorable culture.

Putting that a side, I wanted to point out that when people type the words p0rn or porography it gets me really houny.

Just kidding guys, I can't type either.

Oh, and this movie is sick at so many levels. I won't be seeing this one.
