'Strangers' duo writing 'Death Note' script for U.S. remake

While browsing the production notes for Universal's 'The Strangers', ShockTilYouDrop discovered that plans are afoot for a U.S. remake of the uber-popular manga-to-anime-to-film 'Death Note'.
According to said production notes, writers Vlas and Charles Parlapanides are penning an American remake of 'Death Note' for Vertigo Films.
