 I think as is stated in the article Spielberg saw the error of his ways ObiWannaJones On the close encounters dvd they give you the original cut so if you don't like the added stuff you can always watch the original, same with ET. George Lucas has never done that and actually acknowledges his orginal versions as inferior.

Poor George Lucas can't win.  First he's berated for putting out multiple editions of Star Wars and milking everyone.  Then he's berated for not doing it.

My problem was actually getting ON Mania.

Anyway, ET was and still is one of the most magical and wonderful fantasies ever put on film! But as much as I LOVED the performances from all the cast, it was Mr. Williams' music that made the film so special. One of the greatest cinematic music pieces ever produced for ANY film!

ObiWannaJones, if I could disagree more, I would, but that is your opinion, so I respect that....but I STRONGLY disagree.
