My favorite genre movie of all time. Great, simple story. Great dialogue. Great action sequences. Great drama. Great everything. This was Star Trek at its absolute best. Easily the best Star Trek movie. The effects may not hold up so great after 30 years but the movie sure does. Every time it's on I have to watch it. My favorite scene is Kirk's group sitting inside the asteroid talking about how Kirk handle the kobayashi test..."I don't believe in the no-win scenario." "I don't like to lose." This movie was dead solid perfect.

Spock's death still brings tears to my eyes...  This idefinitely my "comfort movie."  when I need cheering up, this movie does the trick!  Love it

I have to disagree that Wrath of Khan was "action-centric."  Obviously there was a good amount of action in the film with some great mano-e-mano space battles, but I'd say what's made Wrath so memorable was its story arc for Kirk.  He started off lecturing Saavik on the concept of a no-win scenario, and then ultimately had to face such a situation by the climax of the film.  He also had to face his past demons when Khan came after him, giving him a real threat to defeat.  While I enjoyed Abrams' version of Trek in 2009, I hope he comes up with a strong story to tell this time, versus just giving us lots of space battles and lens flares again.

I loved the ship to ship battle in the clouds with the Enterprise coming up behind its prey and of course when they lowered the shields..."I am sending it to you...right now."

The scene your describing was my favorite of this and any other Star Trek movie or TV show that I can think of. Just when you think the Enterprise is dead in the "water" and the crew in the Genesis planet is going nowhere, Kirk tells that story, says that wonderful line and flips the communicator open... perfect Kirk moment! Great movie. Thanks for sharing all of the great quotes!

I love the look Kirk gets as he tells savik what he and Spock are doing with the pre-fix code....

An absolute classic.  Not only the best Trek movie ever, one of my all-time favorite movies of all time!  So many classic, quotable lines in this one! :)

"For Hate sake I spit my last breath at thee." Classic lit quotes really made this movie stand out to me in addition to the fact that this was just pure Star Trek

"There's a man out there I haven't seen in fifteen years who's trying to kill me. You show me a son that'd be happy to help. My son... my life that could have been... and wasn't. How do I feel? Old... worn out."
