Best Movie Ever.

Everything about this movie was well done. The concept of a living virtual world inside the computer has never been shown like this since. Legacy failed in reproducing the look or the atmosphere of the main concept that this movie achieved.

The only thing that came close to reproducing this movies atmosphere was the game Tron 2.0. But even that game was somewhat a retread and pale image of the original movie.

Long Live Tron!

dawntreader,  the computer animated TV show Reboot came close to Tron with different worlds in each computer system and the stories, especially in the second and third seasons were really good.

I showed my 7th and 8th Computer Literacy students a couple of clips from TRON to demonstrate wireframing (Flynn being de-rezzed in the real world, and the MCP talking to Sark). I then showed them the lightcycle scene from both the original and from TRON: LEGACY. They were far more impressed with the cycle scene from 1982 - with all of the sharp turns and speeding through the maze. I was shocked.

Have never watched this film. It's one of the few genre films that despite its reputation and fanbase I've yet to make time to see it. Used to love the arcade game though back in the day.
