Summer Seeker

Welcome to another Countdown where we cut the fat and serve you only the game releases this week. This week was on the down low, which again I am not too fond of. I love having plenty of games out each week and this week was not up to par. At least we are not at summer drought levels because those are the worst time of the year. They make you go outside and do stuff in the sun, and as a videogame reviewer I hate that. Anyways lets get on to the show.
Heatseeker (PS2 - Wii) - It seems there are an increasing amount of flying games coming out the PSP or the Wii, which I am very happy for. In Heatseeker players will strap themselves into a pilot seat and fly with over 30 planes with 40 different weapons on plenty of levels. Because I am on a kick for flying games I will give this the nod for game of the week.
Legend of the Dragon (PS2 - PSP - Wii) - Join the battle to maintain the universal balance between darkness and light with all the popular characters from the animated TV series: Ang Lueng never dreamed that he would be the next Golden Dragon. Fans of the show will probably enjoy it.
Ultimate Board Game Collection (PSP) - This collection includes 20 different classic board games for players to either challenge the computer to or play with several other friends to see who is the best board game player in the group. Just a few of the games are Parcheesi, Naval Battle, and Chinese checkers, so it should be fairly interesting.
Winx Club: Join the Club (PSP) - Winx Club: Join the Club follows the fabulous fairies as they try to thwart the plans of the fearsome Lord Darkar. Called into action, the Winx Club must secure the pieces of a powerful emblem before Darkar completes his frightening plot through side scrolling shooter levels and a variety of exciting mini-games. Like most franchise games fans should enjoy the adventure.
Shrek the 3rd (DS) - Players journey as Shrek and his friends to save Far, Far Away in a twisted fairytale adventure from the movie and beyond. Assuming the roles of Shrek, Puss-in-Boots and newcomer Artie, players journey beyond Far Far Away with the help of Merlin’s magic wand. The game should involve a bunch of puzzles and mini-games so it should be a decent purchase.
Indeed it was a little slow, like I mentioned earlier, with only five games out. Three of them were also franchise games based on works outside of the videogame realm, which is not something I am generally happy about, but I cannot judge them until I play them. I hope that you are enjoying your personal life this week, because the releases for this week may not be enough to properly satisfy it otherwise. Anyways try picking up Heatseaker because it looks like an interesting game. This is Captain Gordon signing off.
