It's been four years since Benderspink tried visualizing Brian Haberlin's Area 52 comic onto the silver screen and nine years after a previous attempt fell short as well. Perhaps, the third time is the charm? Deadline is reporting that Summit Entertainment has acquired the feature film rights to the Image comic series and have tasked Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and JC Spink as producers to oversee its development.

While director Steven C. Miller was originally attached at the helm from a screenplay by Jack Phillips, the online trade suggests that Summit will be starting from scratch here. The search is on for a new writer and director to lead the adaptation.

Plot Concept: The miniseries told the story of a secret storage facility in Antarctica that houses the alien technology that Area 51 is no longer studying. The lead character is an army nurse who must save the day after a mercenary attack unleashes a fantastic terror.

Is that where the govt. was housing the aliens from The Event?

Sounds familiar but it's something I may be interested in unless the fantastic terror is some alien with e.s.p. trying to get home

For those who've read the comic, it's really more about Aread 51 mystical aspect of objects that need wharehouse (think the end of Indiana Jones Raiders of the lost ark and instead they called it 52. It is a very fun comic and would be great to see in real life.
