Although early studio box office estimates on Monday had 'Speed Racer' finishing ahead of 'What Happens in Vegas', the actual tally has the pair switching places.
Today's Variety reports that estimates for Sunday, Mother's Day, were a bit high giving 'Speed' a $20.2 million bank, and a modest edge over 'Vegas'. When the actual numbers were tallied, the movie's take came in at $18.6 million.
Fox's actuals for 'Vegas were on the mark, solidifying its place as the #2 movie, while 'Speed' is #3.
