"Sunshine" Trailer Now Online

By: Karl Schneider
Date: Thursday, January 18, 2007
Source: Fox Searchlight

The trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film, Sunshine, is now online.

You can view it ... well ... right below!

Film's synopsis:  Fifty years from now, the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel. There is an accident, a fatal mistake, and a distress beacon from a spaceship that disappeared seven years earlier. Soon the crew is fighting not only for their lives, but their sanity.

KJ's Take:  Haven't really heard a whole lot about this film, but the trailer had a pretty cool vibe to it and I like the premise.  With good reviews I'll probably head to the theater for this one.

Oh great. 1st Earth starts to fall apart. What they do? They jump start the earth in The Core. Now our sun is failing us. What are they going to do? Jump start the sun. This time our lives are depending on a bunch of lousy actors. So they arn't planning to reuse the same story in this one are they? I hope they remember to change the words "earth" to "sun" in this story. Sorry about being cynical. It was just too good to pass up.

I'll give it a chance. It's writen by ALex Garland(28 Days Later, The Beach) and directed by Danny Boyle

WOODWRAITH...Did you not watch the trailer, granted it's only a trailer but it alone blows away whatever the core gave you in it's full length feature..I think it looks great and I get this black hole/space oddesy feel to it...And what do you want, Tom Cruise in it to make it legitimate for you or Tom Hanks? there are a few good actors in this one and the unkowns don't take away from the movie itself...Just like westend, I will give it a chance plus I like the director.

Wow! Danny Boyle and Alex Garland make a great team, man, and this movie looks flippin' great. Getting a little tired of the "Requiem for a Dream" montage music (loved that movie too) but alas, this film will be watched bad reviews or not. It can't be any worse than "Lady in the Water"; I'm still going to therapy over that crap.

I thought the same thing about the music when I watched. It was amazing in Requiem, it worked great for the Two Towers trailer, but now they are just putting it with whatever movie they want to make look epic. Oh well. Hope the movie lives up to the trailer and its music.

Wow..shoulda known this would be a hot topic. (pun intended) Yes I saw the trailer and i was not impressed, hence my response. These days trailers can show up as eye candy. Can't always trust what you see these days. I got that feeling when i saw this trailer. Also, I can't stand Tom Cruz so no I don't want to see him anything. But to each their own.

Looks like Solar Crisis and The Core rolled into one. I liked the trailer and look forward to this one. Danny Boyle's really putting together a nice resume of films.

I've been waiting for this ever since I heard Boyle and Garland were reteaming to do a sci-fi movie. I loved 28 Days Later (the Beach movie sucked, though, couldn't match the book) and this trailer just looks very, very cool. I like that there's no superstars in this, too. I really hope the movie works!

Are you kidding me? Danny Boyle? Alex Garland? Cillian Murphy? Killer, adult-oriented sci-fi?

Heck yeah!
